SOME REVIEWS FROM A HANDFUL OF THE MANY SINGLES AND REMIXES RELEASED

HEART OV GLASS - THE REMIXES - EPs 1 + 2

UPDATE, DMC DANCE MUSIC REVIEW, 5 DANCING MEN / ESSENTIAL

Originally out last year, Product 01's cover of Blondie's classic is now coming back on Germany's Compost with an array of remixes split onto two 12"s.
The ever busy Tommie Sunshine rough things up in his usual fashion (acid tweaks and rave stabs 128 BPM) whilst Lopazz do their sparse (yet dislocated) thang (116). However the best interpretation of the lot has to come from Justus Köhncke. On top form these days Kompakt's most talented artist / producer has re-injected some lovely minimal disco juice into it (114). The electro-breaks original with its alternative / industrial flavour still stands proud (116).

DJ MAGAZINE - 4 STARS - EP1
Here's a real musical oddity: Product.01 release remixes of a cover version they did of Blondie's big hit 'Heart Ov Glass'. Marc Adamo and Rochelle Vincente's cover version is an underground affair. German techno pop star Justus Köhncke disrupts the noughties continuum, re-working 'Glass' using a gently pulsing electro house backing and enigmatic synths reminiscent of 'New Gold Dream'-era Simple Minds. On the office playlist!

iDJ - RECOMMENDED - 4 STARS - EP2

Tommie Sunshine finally produces the club-friendly mix this cover has been crying out for with his '1992 Candyflip' remix - splattered with acid and rave stabs, it's aptly named. You get an instrumental of the Prod's original, which reminds you how strong in depth their track really is, plus you get a swooping new creation, 'State Ov Electrik.'

JUICY MAGAZINE
If you were to state the fact that you couldn't make a comparison between Product.01 and any other Electronica act in music industry you wouldn't be lying, the truth is there is no-one else like them around! Their style is fresh, it is a pure mixture of razor-sharp Electrobeats, heavy Synth-basslines and a riot of bleeps that is complimented by lashings of aural S&M.

NC, NEW CURRENTS - EP OF THE MONTH - 4 STARS
Since their inception, Brighton-based electronica duo Product.01 certainly haven't wasted any time in making friends in high places. Their spiky electro revamp of the Blondie classic has found its way onto playlists of such luminaries as Tiga and Felix Da Housecat, while the video has recently been jumped all over by MTV. Two EPs to choose from here, EP1, with the glorious Justus Köhncke remix on the flip just begs for replay, but for me EP2's standout, State Ov Electrik, comes out tops - bursting with crunchy beats and brooding basslines, setting the perfect framework over which soar the ethereal vocals of singer Rochelle.

INTHEMIX.COM - RECOMMENDED

UK-based electro-breaks duo Product.01 (aka vocalist / lyricist Rochelle Vincente and beatmaker / programmer Marc Adamo) have already made a splash on the breaks scene with their remixes for the likes of Free*land and recent ‘Loud' EP, and this latest 12" through Compost presents the second slab of remixes of their recent breaks cover of Blondie's ‘Heart Of Glass', with reworkings from NYC's Tommie Sunshine and Output Recordings artist Lopazz as well as a previously unreleased new track.

On the A-side of this 12", Tommie Sunshine's lengthy ‘1992 Candyflip' reworking of ‘Heart Ov Glass' strips the icy robotics of the original track right down to just a burbling TB-303 bassline and crisp tech-house beats, whilst retaining pretty much all of Vincente's vocal and running it over some shimmering Detroit synth pads, shortly before things lock down into slamming acid-house squiggles and drum machine breakdowns during the chorus – of all of the mixes presented on this 12", this is easily the most main-room oriented, with a particularly nice ghostly dub feel lurking behind the whirring synths and delayed-out vocals.

There's an instrumental version of the Original version of ‘Heart Ov Glass' that pretty much does what it says on the tin, stripping out all of the vocals and also editing the track down slightly to a shorter running time, while new track ‘State Ov Electric' ventures down into dark, brooding and bleep-strewn breaks, Vincente's digitally twisted and contorted vocals sliding through the sinister electronic haze and robotic electro textures in a manner that calls to mind some of Bjork's ‘Homogenic' expeditions; there's also an indefinable Miami breaks effect behind the scenes that's sure to delight breaks fiends. Finally, on the flip, Output Recordings artist Lopazz opts for a smoky, low-slung funk approach on his reworking of ‘Heart Ov Glass', with funk guitars replacing the original version's synth riff and broad funk-bass slaps riding over a hiphop-inflected backbeat – while it takes the original to a considerably more downtempo place, Vincente's echo-treated vocals sound just as at home in these surroundings, the downbeat instrumental atmosphere calling to mind the likes of Bertrand Burgulat's nocturnal band invetigations.

An excellent remix EP that certainly covers many bases at once, with downtempo beats and darker-edged electro-breaks included alongside acid-house; there's something to please virtually everyone here, and in my opinion this 12" represents the more essential offering out of the two ‘Heart Ov Glass' remix EPs. Those who enjoyed Product.01's recent ‘Loud' EP should definitely give this a listen.

RA, RESIDENTADVISOR.NET - 8 /10
Product.01 return to the scene with the first Remix EP of their Heart Ov Glass release.
The Original Version kicks things off unleashing the reworking of Blondie's 80's hit. Bleeps and cut up effects surround the re-sung vocals creating this massive hit that Product.01 have created.
Melts is a down tempo track, full of swirling effects and quirky sounds.
On the flip we have the Justus Kohncke Remix of Heart Ov Glass, and he turns in a nice minimal reworking full of subdues bleeps and beats that soon turns nice and funky thanks to the vocal and the smooth baseline. A very talented man he is, and this remix shows just why.

The 2nd Remix EP features some more upbeat remixes of the Blondie remake.
Tommie Sunshine's 1992 Candyflip mix adds a bit of an acid touch to the package, with some crisp beats surrounded by acid lines and the main vocal. Not a bad remix at all, adding to the acid revolution with pride.
The Instrumental Version takes the twisted and stabbing effects from the Original and strips the vocal away, leaving an array of quirky sounds and gritty b-lines.
Turn it over and you first have State Ov Electrik. Another original production featuring the vocals of Rochelle, this track has an eerie feel to it with some nice subtle melodies that help build the track, until it hits some dark gritty baselines midway in. Nice work here, helped by the seductive vocals.
The Lopazz HOG Remix of Heart Ov Glass concludes the EP with a smooth remix featuring some subtle guitar riffs, bleeps and some smooth slow baselines.
Not a bad remix package yet again, with the Tommie Remix and State Ov Electrik standing out in particular.

ATOME.COM
The UK duo should be very proud to see the German label Compost releasing remixes of their hit "Heart Ov Glass". In addition to the original & instrumental versions plus two new tracks by Product.01, we find on these two EPs three interesting reworks. The first one is done by genius Justus Köhncke who probably had lot of fun producing this longplayer that sounds very 80s like some of his previous stuff. Of course Justus enhances this remix with his very own touch: long and minimal intro with strong bass, nice strings, naive and dissonant melodies and yes he did it: he's singing over Rochelle! Happy and crazy like most of the time, in one word: excellent! The second remix is produced by Tommie Sunshine who decided to go in an oldschool acid dancefloor direction. Finally, Lopazz, the style is a mix of soft electro break with funky guitar and slapped bass.

LIVEJOURNAL.COM / Moebius Rex
The freakazoid glitchpop jouissance of Product.01's update of "Heart Of Glass" was one of the experiences that provoked me to get myself into mp3 blogging. Early last year, Fluxblog posted it, I downloaded it, and shazam, I was hooked, both on the song and the manner in which it got to me. Now it's a bit over a year later, and Product.01's come out with two new EPs that present "Heart Ov Glass" remixes by such luminaries as Justus Köhncke and Tommie Sunshine alongside an instrumental mix and a couple new non-Blondie-related tracks.

I expected to be most wowed by the Köhncke or Sunshine contributions, but to my surprise I ended up falling for the Lopazz track in the end. After the relative bombast of the first two, I was seduced by Lopazz' mellow, nuanced take, which tilts ever so slightly on an axis of funky bass, bubbly guitar, and subliminal chime, with the unmodified vocals flitting above and beyond the melody like a summer swarm of butterflies. For some reason it brings to my mind green meadows, late afternoon sunlight shining through oak trees, the first fillaments
of fog blowing in from the coast. [Get it at Juno !]

THE CLONED EP

MIXMAG, TOP 5 ELECTRO TUNE

'Clone' has really fat, really glitchy beats with a hooky vocal that takes it into twisted electro-pop territory, whereas co-track 'Diamond' is a somewhat smoother ride, but still has bags of energy.
And bonus points for the vocals which sound like they were beamed in from outer space.

iDJ - 4 STARS
Second release for /Product.01 and one that can only reinforce their reputation. Two electro cuts, 'Clone' and 'Diamond', with Rochelle's icy vocal sitting perfectly over Adamo's razor-sharp electro beats, managing to be pop with no concession to pap. Then there's the discofied, squelchy Doppelganger Remix of 'Clone', sadly vocal-free but still guaranteed
to rock it.

KLUB KNOWLEDGE - 4 STARS
The lovely Rochelle Vincente (vocals) + Adamo (sonics). Head to the Clone Doppelganger Remix for full on, throbbing, party monster with acid tinges. Wilder floors can play the electro original of Clone with more of Rochelle's alluring vocal. A grower perhaps but a real gem.

UPDATE, DMC DANCE MUSIC REVIEW - 4 DANCING MEN / FLOOR FILLER

After their grungy cover of Blondie's 'Heart Of Glass' got them noticed a few months back, Product.01 has kept busy with a handful of remixes for the likes of Dave Clarke, International Pony and Si Begg. With more care put into songwriting this second EP reveals undeniable capabilities. Both 'Clone'and 'Diamond' offer a craze-up mixture of vintage electro beats & tricks (think a roughed-up Mantronix) with the impressive goth-like vocals of Aussie singer Vincente.
The kind of band 4AD should sign instantly.

UPDATE, DMC DANCE MUSIC REVIEW - 4 DANCING MEN / FLOOR FILLER
Doppelganger remix gets fierce with plenty of 303 lines and gritty, stomping synthesizer action.

DJ MAGAZINE - 4 STARS

Product.01 are Rochelle Vincente on vocals and studio boffin Adamo and they make a more compelling noise than most new school electro duos. Indeed, while 'Clone' features Vincente's coquettish, occasionally melancholic vocals, her contribution is set to a tight electro-breaks arrangement that seethes dark acid menace - and has more in common with an operation like Clone rather than electroclash trash. The offbeat bass-led 'Diamond' maintains their underground credentials, and even the 4/4 based remix of 'Clone' by Doppelganger grinds with the kind of raw sex appeal lacking in electro.

QX MAGAZINE - MARK MOORE + PRINCESS JULIA
Our fave at the moment is Product 01's "Cloned EP" with a marvellous Doppelganger remix in the electro-disco mode that is so á la mod at the moment.

JUICE - 4 STARS
Rising locals stars Product.01 follow up their massive 'Heart Ov Glass' with a
fine slice of pristine electropop, featuring their trademark plaintive vocals over
a synth-heavy, pulsing track. Likely to find favour with breaks, electro and techno heads alike, the single also proves a tasty four-four remix that should help cement their reputation as one of Brighton's most exciting acts.
Electro with soul as well as attitude.

LATEST
Product.01 have just released their 'Cloned' EP. An electro-tech three-tracker,
it's the brainchild of Austrian-Australian Rochelle Vincente and Italian-English producer Adamo. The title cut, 'Clone', is apparently a 'slamming critique on the cult of individuality and the commercialisation of the personality' - enough to get any singer-songwriter with a guitar and political agenda fighting for his soapbox. Meanwhile, the second track 'flips schizophrenically from spacey chords to razor-sharp beats and freaked-out noise' well enough to do us reviewers out of a job.
With remixes for Princess Superstar, Adam Freeland and Dave Clarke under their belts, these two won't stay underground for long.

INTHEMIX.COM - RECOMMENDED
Electro / breaks crossover duo /Product.01's (aka Italian / English producer Adamo and Austrian / Australian vocalist Rochelle Vincente) debut 12" release ‘The Zero-One EP' which included their remake of Blondie's ‘Heart Of Glass' received massive support from the likes of Tiga and Erol Alkan, their growing reputation being bolstered by remixes for Free*land, Si Begg and Chicks On Speed. This follow-up 12" release, ‘The Cloned EP' arrives less than a year after ‘The Zero-One EP' and gathers together three new original tracks from /Product.01 that surely won't disappoint electro-breaks heads who enjoyed the duo's debut offering.

On the A-side of this 12", ‘Clone' opens with icy bleeping synths that swiftly lock down into a tight electro groove, with crisp breakbeats and a buzzing bassline providing a propulsive bed for Vincente's slightly goth-tinged vocal (in the style of early-period Kosheen), which provides an edged critique on the subject of dilution of individuality. In many ways, it resembles the more stripped-down moments Hybrid explored on their recent ‘Morning Sci-Fi' album, crossed with a Kosheen / Amiel-style vocal hook that's sure to appeal to fans of electro-infused vocal breaks.

On the flip, ‘Diamond' drops the tempo slightly and tosses in some ominous buzzing synths around a tight tech-breaks groove and flanging bassline, while Vincente's darkly ethereal vocal flits through – in many ways this track gets into some of the deeper, darker romantic textures compared to the A-side. Finally, the Doppelganger remix of ‘Clone' strips out pretty much all of the original vocal and lays down a tight 4/4 tech-house beat that slowly builds up the robotic synth bass and Euro-tinged electro synths over its full duration -–resulting in a intriguing hybrid between streamlined tech-house and electroclash stylings that carries just the right amount of drama (and even a touch of 303 acid squelch).

Another excellent 12" release from /Product.01 that shows them honing their potent blend of electro-infused vocal breaks further – fans of vocal breaks will love the two tracks featuring Vincente included here, while the less vocal-inclined should head for the slammin' Doppelganger mix.

ATOME.COM
After their first acclaimed EP, the English duo shows one more time its love for synthetic & powerful electro techno breakbeat. The /Product.01's touch is still here with Rochelle Vincente's voice and typically UK massive sounds. To be mentioned: B-side brings an acid techno remix furthermore dedicated to the dancefloor!

RA, RESIDENTADVISOR.NET - 8 /10
The second release from Product.01 is set to further enhance their reputation after a pretty solid set of tunes here on The Cloned EP.

First up on the a-side is Cloned. A nice track here, with some cheeky vocal lines as well as some crisp beats and electro cutting edge synths. Nice and upbeat throughout, with a really fresh futuristic electro feel to it.
Following this is Diamond, a track that again showcases the electro nature of /Product.01, no nonsense baselines and quirky vocal delights.

On the flip is the very tasty Doppelganger Remix of Clone. This is one for the techy fans, as the track showcases a multitude of bleeps and squeals amongst
a crisp set of beats and some simply devastating baseline rumbles. Chunky stuff here that has already seen support from Lee Burridge in particular.

A pretty solid release here from /Product.01 with both mixes of Cloned standing out from the pack.

FUNKPROX.COM
/Product.01 is a new UK based electro/electronic act that is working its way into the spotlight. Already a third EP is in production at this moment. Zero One EP and Cloned EP are the first two releases. These were released on their own label. Both EP's display the typical /Product.01 sound which is energetic, dance orientated with an electro and new wave feeling at times.

The opening track of the Zero One EP is an instant smash hit. ‘Heart Ov Glass' is a cover version of the famous Blondie song. This new interpretation sounds very fresh and modern without losing the original feeling.

'Crushproof' is an more atmospheric track, but still suitable for the dancefloor. It reminds me a bit of the innovating dark electro by Android Lust. ‘Symbionic' is yet another melancholic beat driven piece in the electro-break style of /Product.01.

On the Cloned EP there are two versions of the track ‘Clone'. The Doppelganger Remix is somewhat more dancefloor friendly and has some vague EBM influences. ‘Diamond' is also a nice track but less strong than the other tracks on these EP's.

After hearing these two EP's I am convinced /Product.01 will become an act to keep an eye out for. They have a style of their own. This style will appeal to both electro people and more general mainstream dance music. I am on the lookout for the third release…

Top notch. Absolutely brilliant. Love it.
I'm a big fan of the whole Si Begg, Cursor Miner, Tipper sound and now I can add Product.01 to my no nonsense balls out electro breaks computer set.
It's great to hear these breaks and bleeps used in a song based track.
The programming is superb and the vocals are great. It's kinda like the Electro Clash sound but futuristic instead of sounding like the 80's and tougher, meatier electro element. Always have some Si Begg and Product 01 and you can't go wrong.

JEAN-FRANCOIS FECTEAU, DJ / LE VESTIBULE RADIO
This second EP from Product.01 just reinforces the amazement that the 'Zero-One' EP had introduced us to. The music flows as android machinery propelled by an overwhelming multi-layered sound density that almost compresses the air that surrounds the synthetic sonic waves crushing in and out into powerful electronic bursts of melody, grooves, rhythms and robotized angelic vocals.
Charting at 2.

ACCESS EP

MIXMAG - TOP 2 ELECTRO TUNE
Now, this we like. Hard, taut and spattered with distressed, ear-bending sonics,
it more or less frogmarches you onto the dancefloor. Simple but deeply sexy,
it shows that there are still diamonds in that seam between electro-pop and techno. A marriage made in electro heaven.

DJ MAGAZINE - 4 STARS
Product.01 - who you might know from their cover of 'Heart Of Glass' - mix up house, electro, breaks and dark pop songs in a rather interesting way, something continued on this hook up with Lexi's Laz. Every frequency of 'Access' seems to throb, from the gruff electronic bassline to the screeching distorted high end. It all adds a human touch to Rochelle Vincente's don't-fuck-with-me vocals. A remix heads into that prog-electro territory that seems to be getting popular at the moment, but we favour the more roughneck, breakbeat-tinged original.

DMC UPDATE, DANCE MUSIC REVIEW - 4 DANCING MEN / FLOOR FILLER
Label boss Laz hooks up with hefty duo Product.01 - singer Rochelle Vincente and electronic manipulator Marc Adamo - to create one of those shouty, spikey electro-based assaults. Her vocal delivery of the 'show me you want it, show me you need it' actually recall The Kills. They try hard to whip up the punky noise party and it's easy up there on that level. The instrumental, where you can appreciate the track's funkiness, allows for efx and trickery, while an extra
remix bends and distorts in a dubwise fashion.

MARK MOORE & PRINCESS JULIA, QX MAGAZINE

DMC UPDATE, DANCE MUSIC REVIEW - 5 DANCING MEN / ESSENTIAL
When their not remixing for Skint, Compost and the like Product.01 are busy beavering away crafting own unique blend of acid lead electro.
Released on their self owned imprint 'The Hot EP' takes in a wide-ranging scope of bleepy electro cuts. Three very different mixes to choose from here, their 'Moonstomp Mix' encompasses electro house of the highest order, taking in dirty rocking bass married up with twisted acid lines and slurry female vocals.
As for the 'ElectroVox Mix' well lets just say if Goldfrapp heard this they mite just break out in sweats of jealously. Last but by not means least we are treated
to an acid remix, minimal vocal usage and quite possibly the filthiest acid sounds to come out of Brighton. Game over.

DMC UPDATE, DANCE MUSIC REVIEW - 4 DANCING MEN / FLOOR FILLER
Last year, Product.01 impressed with the in-your-face electro outings like 'Heart Ov Glass' and 'State Ov Electrik', while scoring big on the Remixometer for the likes of Caucassian Boy and Husky Rescue. This EP is first taste of the new material taking shape - three takes on a work called 'Hot Trap'. The Moonstomp Mix plants the breathy female vocal and sundry screams over a harsh, hot wired clatter. The ElectroVox is beefy, swinging electro, while the Acid Mix is a scutting acid house instrumental.

MIXMAG - TOP 2 ELECTRO TUNE
'Hot Trap' is a controlled explosion of bleeps and titanium-tipped FX which, thanks to Rochelle's vocal, which rises effortlessly above the electronic shrapnel, retains it's pop edge. 'Moonstomp Mix' is the pick of the pops here. More tough love from the 'Heart Ov Glass' duo.

iDJ MAGAZINE - 4 STARS
Fat, ruff vocal electro from Rochelle and Adamo. Three mixes of the catchy ‘Hot Trap' to go for: coming on like a bleepier, more wigged-out Goldfrapp, the original is a floor-rocker in itself, but here it comes accompanied by two clubbed-up remixes, one vocal, one not. Very cool, and their most memorable outing since ‘Heart Ov Glass'.

JERRY BOUTHIER, M8 MAGAZINE - M6 / M8
Brighton's pro-active electro duo has a new single out on its own imprint; it's called 'Hot Trap' and comes in three different mixes. There's the schizophrenic
ElectroVox Mix, relentless and suffocating like an out-of-hand S&M session. Getting deeper the Acid Remix still manages a jolly mood - the clubbiest cut of the lot. The Moonstomp Mix is pure Goldfrapp chic and highlights the pair's pop potential.

BLUES AND SOUL, Issue 966 - 4 STARS
"Hot Trap" is a three track EP with three mixes and a prelude to the forthcoming album. The three mixes would suit any dancefloor with the Moonstomp Mix being a feisty and intense house/ techno remix, the ElectroVox Mix being twisted 80's stylings and the Acid Remix adding hard-hitting warped synths.

DJ MAGAZINE - 3.5 STARS
We like the idea of producers remixing themselves rather than some label bod putting together a package at the cost to the artists royalties. That's what the electro pair with the hearts of glass have done here. The 'ElectroVox Mix' sticks close to their crunchy beats and 'clashy vocals that has worked in their favour before - and with plenty of sensual drama this is up with their best stuff. The 'Moonstomp Mix' sounds like Goldfrapp being put together on a production line with the funkiest robots on duty, while the 'Acid Mix' does exactly what you'd imagine.

DJ MAGAZINE - 4 STARS
After covering Blondie's 'Heart Ov Glass' last year, Product.01 have a go at creating their own electro-infused anthem. The 'Electrovox Mix' is a moody tech-electro punk stomper, which will probably be a bit scary and noisy for most househeads. The 'Moonstomp Mix' puts fat analogue sounds over chugging beats for an electro-pop track with a touch of the Goldfrapps about it. Of most dance floor interest is the 'Acid Remix', a heavy dubbed-out edit, with snatches of the vocal floated above juddering acidic bass and some funky robotic blips and bleeps. A competent exercise in bleep acid house minimalism.

DJ MAGAZINE - 3.5 STARS
Product.01 are one of the few electro acts who are able to explore pop music without looking stupid, or worse, like one of the cast of 'Zoolander'. This sensibility is evident on the catchy vocals and sweaty, pulsing groove of 'Hot Trap'. But the remixes prove that there's more to this duo than rehashing former chart glories. There's a glitchy, bumping backing on the original version and the old school acid of the, erm, 'acid' remix shows that Product.01 know dance music as well as pop's past.

MARK MOORE & PRINCESS JULIA, QX MAGAZINE
Great 3 tracker wiv a bit ov acid and electro stomp! Charting at 4.

EQ-MAG.CO.UK, Issue 3, 8 /10
Electro. Punk. Techno. Without naming names, some producers and labels seem to try too hard to be all of the above but never manage. Product.01, on the otherhand, have it all in The Hot EP. The ElectroVox Mix of Hot is an aggressive electro, techno track containing an excellent punk vocal, acid squelches and serrated synths that seem to go 100 miles an hour. The very fine Moonstomp Mix, with the same softly seductive female vocal, could easily be mistaken for sounding like Goldfrapp if it wasn't as raw, while the Acid Mix of Trap is another helping of acidic electro techno. Not bad!

COVERT RECORDS
The third and possibly the best release from Brighton based electro act Product 01. With tweking acid and phat analogue synths, this package moves the dancefloor a treat. Wonderful.

Product.01 drag 'Lights' onto the dancefloor, with crunchy, noisy beats and a wobbling 303-led bass sound.

CMU DAILY
'City Lights' is an effortlessly stylish piece of beguiling downtempo, recalling Air circa 'Moon Safari' and the likes of Bent and Zero 7 at their most warm and affecting. Remix number one comes courtesy of Product.01, who twist the song into a piece of crunching, robotic techno-funk. Cut from similar cloth are the wonderful Vector Lovers who add their familiar icy synths, futuristic glitches and vocodered vocals to proceedings.

CHANNEL4.COM / T4
As with previous Husky Singles City Lights dons some classy remix treatments, from new producers on the block Product.01.

THEBEATSURRENDER.CO.UK - 5 Stars
...Product 01's tougher, twisted Crunch City Remix adding further weight to this release it should appeal across the board with a little something for everybody.

TrusttheDJ.COM
The City Lights EP sounds like Air (Moon Safari, not Virgin Suicides) mixed with Röyksopp (when they didn't suck - seriously, what happened there?). There's laidback ambient on the radio mix, more upfront dance floor action via Product. 01's Crunch City mix, and an almost laconic, delicate piece of lounge jazz from Vector Lovers. City Lights is presented in three versions, all having in common the same languid quality. For bleepy, electro style beats (and for those together enough to dance) it has to be the Crunch City remix. Nice heavy basslines, synths you could swing on, and enough analogue action to keep anyone happy.

FMAGAZINE.COM
The title tracks on Husky Rescue's City Lights EP ticks all the right boxes for late-night soul-searching lounge-jazz-lite á la Air. Product.01's Crunchy City Remix buries heavily-processed vocals under a barrage of glitchy, 4/4 Sinclair-ZX Spectrum-style beats.

ITM, INTHEMIX.COM.AU

These kids have the goods to keep you occupied, actually more than occupied, more like blissfully aware as P.01's ‘Crunch City Remix' courses through your energy craving veins. It's fast, snappy, bleepy, blippy and filled with a world of promise, and that's just in the first minute!

CDTIMES.CO.UK
The remixes are rather good! Product.01's bleepy Crunch City Remix flattens the original under a robotic foot, while Vector Lovers take the chill-out approach, adding extra twinkly noises and vocodered vocals.

RA, RESIDENTADVISOR.NET - 8 /10
Catskills Records unleashes the smooth sounds of Husky Rescue in this City Lights EP which also features remixes from Product.01 and Vector Lovers.

The Original Radio Mix is first up, and it is quite a nice smooth production full of warm vocals, delicate drums and a solid array of sounds and moody effects as well as a subtle baseline that gives the track a good flow.

The Product.01 Crunch City Remix is next up, and I must say I like the quirky twisted remix that they have come up with. The beats are very tight, and the gritty baselines and effects add to this unique remix. The vocals are effected and placed nicely from the main breakdown onwards and they work very well with this very tasty remix.

The Vector Lover's Radio Remix appears to be an expansion to the radio mix, albeit adding a little more depth with some smooth drums and warm sounds. It is a nice addition by the Vector Lovers but it is the Product.01 remix that shines here.

LEXI, LIQUID LOVE / PRODUCT.01 DIGITAL SPANK + DIGITAL FLUID MIXES (SUPERSTONIC)

MIXMAG, TOP 10 ELECTRO TUNE
Ace steamy electronic ballad, given an Italio-tinged electro-house aspect by remixers Product.01.

iDJ - 4 STARS
Much better than the previous 'Dial Me' release. Lexi again call in Product.01 to remix. Their Digital Spank Mix is a pulsing electro-disco number with plenty of club appeal, while the Digital Fluid Mix is perhaps best described as minimal electro. On the flip is a sharp-edged electro version by band member Laz and the really rather naughty original. She's wet, don't you know.

UPDATE, DMC DANCE MUSIC REVIEW - 4 DANCING MEN / FLOOR FILLER
The second nocturnal emission from Lexi and Laz is an x-rated romp leaving no doubts about the nature of the liquid love. The dripping panties may offer a clue. First two remixes by Product.01 - the Digital Spank version spurts rollicking electro riffs and snippets of horny vocal with a twisted glitch in the groove-tail. The Digital Fluid mix is spikey and breathy sex-dub. Laz then comes in for sloppy seconds on a disembodied space orgy tip, before a reminder of the near-ambient original. Amazing to hear what you can get away with now compared to the shock-horror a bit of heavy breathing could inspire only ten years ago.

DMC ZZUB CHART

Charting at 8, 14 + 15

TTR - 9 /10
Lexi's second release on Supersonic carries on where the dark sexual undertones of "Dial Me" left off. "Liquid Love" is more electronic sleaze with crisp production and a slow sensual basslines and synth grooves around some sexual vocals to die for! There are 4 tracks in all on this 12", all different takes on the original which resides on the Laz side along with the Deep Pinkie mix which is a more upbeat track with some subtle DnB tinged basslines and sharp electro hits coming at you from all angles, awesome production. Turn the record over to the "Product 01 side" and we have first the Digital Spank mix which brings the nice sensual feel to a more dancefloor oriented track with an infectious electro rhythm and nice touches on the vocals, expect to hear this one played out everywhere. The second is a Dub take of the piece called the Digital Fluid mix, nice and glitchy and building into a nice bassline accompanied by curious bleepy percussive patterns make this one for chillin out with. A brilliantly produced and well varied record that has to be listened to.

CAUCASIAN BOY, NORTHERN LIGHTS / PRODUCT.01 REMIX (SKINT / SONY RECORDS)

UPDATE, DMC DANCE MUSIC REVIEW - 5 DANCING MEN / ESSENTIAL
One of Crispin J Glover's finest moments is about to do the rounds again. Under the name Caucasian Boy, Crispin first released "Northern Lights" on his own Matrix imprint, it was then picked up in the US by Strictly Rhythm, & went on to global domination. Now over a decade later it still sounds as fresh & inspiring as it did then, blowing most of it's competitors clean out of the water. Sweetlight, Laid & Product.01 supply the remixes. This is proper, you need it.

iDJ MAGAZINE - 4 STARS
Crispin J Glover's classic was a unique combo of thumping dark acid and deep, deep house and it still sounds as fresh as it did 12 years back. A classic by any stretch. Better still, none of the remixes ruins the memory. Choose from Laid, who stay closest with their take. Sweetlight, who get very electro current and Product.01, who sound like Mylo on acid. They're all, thankfully, class.

DJ MAGAZINE - 4 STARS
If you had your own record label you could get all your favourite producers to do remixes of your favourite tracks and then release them. It would be ace - and it's exactly what Damian Harris and Andy Mac have done here. Product.01 stomp out some peak-time electronic energy over the orig. deep 1993 tech houser.

BUCKFUNK 3000, ‘2 MUCH BOOTY’ (BOW WOW RECORDS)

UPDATE, DMC DANCE MUSIC REVIEW - 5 DANCING MEN / ESSENTIAL + ATM, 5/5 - RECOMMENDED
Bow Wow is a new label championing all things breakbeat.
Fitting then that Buck Funk 3000 should furnish it with its first release. The original, '2 Much Booty' is a sub - alicious monster with serrated bass and typical Begg edits and synth action.
The Product.01 is the one we'll be playing. Full on, dirty, dark and bouncey dance floor action ensues like a convention of bouncing electricians
in Miami waiting to catch a stealth plane to electro - land.

SOTO, BOTCHIT & SCARPER / TOP 10, DJ MAG
Dirty and dark sci-fi booty dancefloor noodlings from this new label.
Charting at 4.

RA, RESIDENTADVISOR.NET - 9 /10
The Product.01 Remix of '2 Much Booty' is where it's at for mine! Twisted, crunchy beats grind over the top of the chopped up vocal from the original, while some of the filthiest bassline action in existence makes you want to shake what your momma gave ya, but bring your lunch back up at the same time. But that's not all, this remix comes complete with warped synths, complimenting the already manic insanity that the bassline creates. And then just when you think it's all over, then comes the Electro breakdown, turning what was a mental Nu Skool Breaks monster into a rollin' Electro tune with those tasty drawn out basslines we all love. Absolutely top notch stuff! This is one EP not to be messed with, not to be dropped without caution for the foundations of the building, and definitely not one to be missed!

This one's all about the mixes, the original album version being an okay electro affair with Lexi getting cross because someone isn't answering her calls. Look, darlin', just back off will you?

THE ZERO-ONE EP

JOCKEY SLUT, HIT ELECTRONICA - SINGLE OF THE MONTH
Electro-pop is so flooded with covers that anyone who's going to attempt one now better make sure they get it right.
'Heart Ov Glass', Adamo and Rochelle Vincente's show-stopping version of Blondie's 'Heart Of Glass' (see what they've done) has been floating around for almost a year on white and sounds as wonderfully spiky and noisy now it's finally got a full release, all raw electro beats, bendy bass and smashing glass sounds. The Bjork-gone-electro 'Crushproof' and 'Symbionic' on the flip prove these two have a darker side and are more than one-trick ponies.
Electro pop with a razor edge.

UPDATE, DMC DANCE MUSIC REVIEW - 4 DANCING MEN / FLOOR FILLER
Brighton based Rochelle sings and Adamo tweaks the machines. Together they are Product.01 and this, their first EP, combines elements of Goth and Techno onto fat Electro breakbeats. Full of loud bleeps and crazy white noise, the A side is an Industrial take on Blondie's classic Disco hit 'Heart Of Glass' and will probably be used soon in fashion shows' soundtracks. On the flip side there are two of their own tracks which dwell further into aural S&M.

iDJ MAGAZINE - 4 STARS
Adamo and Rochelle's superior 'Heart Ov Glass' Blondie cover is better than the majority of electro cover versions. It's a riot of bleeps, smashing glass and bass spurts, but 'Crushproof' and 'Symbionic' on the B show a darker, more disturbing sensibility.

JUICE - KNOW FUTURE NEW TALENT FEATURE
Seriously super fucking cool.

INTHEMIX.COM
Their sound is a mixture of electro and tech, add Vincente's trippy vocals to the mix and you've got a unique sound that has already been making waves in the world's electro community.

ATOME.COM

Warning, electro bomb inside!! After having done some remixes of tracks by International Pony, Freeland or also Dave Clarke + Chicks on Speed, the Brighton-based duo is now releasing its very first EP on its own label and something tells me that we should hear from them for a long time... Product.01 are Rochelle Vincente aka the Ice Maiden on vocals and Adamo behind the machines. Their style is electro and their sound is simply massive: heavy synth-basses, many lo-fi / computer sounds and effects, particularly on Rochelle's voice.
Here we find on the A, an excellent remix of "Heart Ov Glass" by Blondie that should boost this release. But in addition to this future hit, there's also two great tracks on side B: "Crushproof" and above all the mega blasting title "Symbionic". Perfect to rock the dancefloors, so highly recommended!
Check audio samples on Product.01 website & get it!!

SMALLFISH RECORDS
Much cheekiness here with this vocal electro group delivering the first release
on their own label (by the looks of it). The main track is a warped out version
of Blondie's 'Heart Ov Glass' which is actually very, very good. Surprising really as I'm not keen on covers usually but I actually found myself singing along. The flip has two other twisted out electro tracks, also with vocals. Bit of a
goodie really.

DEXTRO.CO.UK
After witnessing a truly awesome set from Product 01 at one of the Beefee nights in Brixton I was lucky enough to get a hold of a copy of their new 'Zero One' EP. The EP includes Product's original take on 'Heart Ov Glass' as well as two of Product's beat driven blinders, 'Crushproof' and my personal favourite 'Symbionic'. 'Heart Ov Glass' incorporates everything that is unique about Product 01. Fat bass bombs exploding with shrapnel in the form of melodic synth programming. The vocal is haunting! It delivers a completely original, almost dark feel, giving the track true punk energy.
'Crushproof' is a beat driven, groove nasty onslaught with cracking bass programming providing top drawer electro satisfaction. The programming is quirky and clever, adding to the superb bass work. This track has a sweet soulful vocal which reminds me of what its like to surf in space!
'Symbionic'. Now this is my favourite. . . . The bass lines on this are fuckin A!, cracking beats and the vocal is utterly encapturing. For me, this is the track that I tell people about, however the three tracks are all completely original, melodic and truly refreshing.
Some of the best dance music I've heard.

RA, RESIDENTADVISOR.NET - 8 /10
The support list for this 12" is huge.
It's safe to say that Heart Ov Glass would be a track that retro enthusiasts would take an easy liking to and probably one electro track to hear at fashion shows.
Side A. Heart Ov Glass
Product.01 turn Blondie's Heart Of Glass into a slightly messy electro affair with plenty of electro stabs, synthesised arpeggios and distorted basslines, vocals courtesy of Rochelle who sounds like she's singing through a CB radio.
The support list for this is massive including the likes of Adam Freeland, Skint Records and Tiga.
Side AA Track 1. Crushproof
Rochelle's vocals sound much clearer on this track. Crushproof sees her delving into darker territories with her vocal melodies while Adamo gives the track a rocky feel crossing borders between electro and goth rock.
Side AA Track 2. Symbionic
A menacing bassline and Rochelle's cyborg-like vocals make up Symbionic. Her vocals come piercing through the speakers to bust eardrums and it's one hell of a track.

JUICE - COVERT RECORDS, TOP 10 TUNES
This is flying off the shelves faster than Wacko-Jacko to a children's party in McDonalds.

RADIO 1 - ONE MUSIC REVIEW
Forget Tiga & Zyntherius, forget Felix Da Housecat, even (deep breath!) forget City Rockers because this is dark, along the lines of Adult; sizzling undertones with killer bass and bleeps and a darker, more gothic view on electronica. In short, this is fantastic, well produced and well sung. Enjoy!

MICHAEL REINBOTH - COMPOST RECORDS

Great stuff, serious productions, and a stunning excellent version of 'Heart Of Glass'. Marvelous! Love it. Have your tracks in my playlist and play them all the time with great response. Charting at 5.

JOHN KENNEDY - XFM / WORLDWIDE

Liked it a lot and gave it a few spins on the show and out there in club/barland!

REV MILO SPEEDWAGON - KISS 100 / 95 FEET EAST / CARGO / HERBAL
Yay! Played it on the show a few months ago - pretty damn good.

SI BEGG - DJ / NOVA-MUTE RECORDS
The kids love it. It dropped like the proverbial bomb at the top euro joints - definitely staying in the crate.

ADAM FREELAND - DJ + PRODUCER / MARINE PARADE
That's the phattest.

EDDY TEMPLE-MORRIS - XFM
Blondie cover admirable, but it's B1 'CrushProof' that's the true quality here, perfect for the new Breaks Update on the last hour of the Remix. I may give A1 a spin for bootleg community satisfaction purposes, but I can see through it to B1!

FIL OK - NAG / GHETTO
Fan-bloody-tastic! At last some decent, dirty electro with vocals. Nice one Product 01.

LARRY TEE - MOGUL ELECTRO
I like your sound and what you guys are up to. Keep up the great work.

TOMMIE SUNSHINE - DJ / GIGOLOS / DUSTTRAXX
I'm a huge proponent of the track! It's so well done man! You rock!
Charting at 1.

ANDY MAC + DAMIEN HARRIS - SKINT RECORDS
Product 01 bring their unique sound to this timeless classic, a great modern interpretation, and a strong hint at their fast developing production skills and own sassy style.

DISASTRONAUT, JOAN OF ASS / RETURN TO NEW YORK / SONIC MOOK / SLACK SABBATH / 1234/RADIO: LONDON RESONANCE 104 FM / PARIS RADIO FG MONTHLY & FRANCE RADIO 3

You rock my world!

MARK MOORE - DJ
Love it!

SCAPE ONE - DJ + PRODUCER
I'll definitely be incorporating it on my travels, all tracks rock the house for me.
My favourite track on the 12 is 'Crushproof'.
This is a welcome marriage of styles, electro-pop & new wave vocals with a funky electro-bass production.
You have a unique style emerging that the media will probably call 'BASS-CLASH!'
;-))))

BASS KITTENS - PRETENSION RECORDS
One of the best electropop tracks we've heard - head and shoulders above the crowd.

EROL ALKAN - DJ + PRODUCER / TRASH
I got the twelve. - I think its pretty cool.

Totally crystal.

MR Q - DJ / DIESEL MUSIC AWARD WINNER (ITALY)
The raw & tickling electro sounds of 'Heart Ov Glass' sends my ear drums to another dimension. Product.01 are in a world of their own making, Italy is waiting for u!

TOM MAGIC FEET - JOCKEY SLUT / SUNGLASSES AT NIGHT

I knew 'Heart Ov Glass' was a big record as soon as I heard it. It's more than just a straight cover version, it's one of the few tracks that people frequently request at my club, too, especially since the band played live, it's a stormer.

VOLUM / VOLSOC - DELIKAT RECORDS
Product.01 is to electro what ATR wishes they were to...whatever it was they
were trying to do- Heart Ov Glass is by far one of the best remakes I've heard in a very long time. Crunchy, edit heavy, tweaked out and mangled as f**k.
All of their material is top. I get beat-matched chills when I hear this.

HERBAL - DJ
Congratulations on your new record Adamo and Rochelle, I love it! Charting at 8.
